SERIES: Xenogears
CHRONOLOGY: CLASS: Reluctant Hero/Occasional Psychopath

BACKGROUND:To begin Fei's story, we need a short history lesson because otherwise nothing is going to make sense. So, in a fairly large nutshell, the story begins around 15,000 years before the start of the game, and on Earth. There, an ancient artifact believed to be the source of all life is found and named the Zohar. Five Hundred years later, examination of the Zohar reveals the existence of a fourth dimensional being called the Wave Existence. Around 250 years later, humanity emigrated from Earth and got involved in an interstellar war. In order to stop said war, they created the Deus System, a powerful weapon with both organic and inorganic parts that uses the Zohar as a fuel source. The creation of Deus then causes the Wave Existence to become trapped in three dimensional space, and also causes Deus to go haywire and destroy much of the planet it's housed on. Realizing that Deus is maybe a little dangerous, the weapon is dismantled and loaded onto the S.S. Eldridge (a continent sized transport space ship) along with the planet's survivors in search of a new settling place. Deus unfortunately awakens during the journey and commandeers the ship, causing it to crash into a nearby planet and killing basically everyone on board except one child (more on that in a second). Deus then creates a woman, the Mother, to recreate humanity with the purpose of eventually harvesting humanity's organic parts to repair itself. The Mother then creates the first human, Cain, and 12 followers of his (The Gazel Ministry), as well as Miang and Elhaym (apparently human females) to watch over humanity and guide it toward recreating Deus's body.
Living on the Eldridge before its fall was a young boy called Abel who, during his time frolicking on the Eldridge, came across the Zohar, and made contact with the Wave Existence. The Existence infused Abel with its power in the hopes that one day, he would return and free it from its prison inside the Zohar. For this reason... Abel managed to survive the destruction of the Eldridge when it crash landed on the planet where Xenogears takes place. His survival made Abel the only original recipe human being on the planet. He eventually grew up and fell in love with Elhaym ("Elly"), which resulted in their being hunted down and killed by Cain and the Ministry.
But their story doesn't stop there. Because as it turns out, Abel and Elly are both eternal souls, forever reincarnating, often into times of great change and making great impacts through their actions. Presumably there were countless incarnations of Abel's soul, but the known stops along the way include:
-Kim, who lived 4,000 years before the game's time period, during the Zeboim era (which basically resembled modern day Earth). During this era, the life expectency of humanity was a mere 30 years, as the planet appeared to be trying to kill people. Kim was a genius scientist in the field of nanotechnology, and created Emeralda, a living girl made entirely of nanobots, as his and Elly's child. Emeralda was intended to carry the hope of humanity and represented a possible breakthrough in extending life expectency. Ultimately, this civilization was destroyed by the Gazel Ministry and Krelian (more on him in a second), along with nearly all of mankind, thus leaving the few strong humans to recreate mankind yet again (which is why humans in the game's era have much extended lifespans). Kim's brilliance and breakthroughs in science continue to influence the game into the "present."
-Lacan, who lived 500 years before the game's time. Lacan was probably the most similar to Fei proper. A brilliant artist, he was responsible for painting a famous portrait of Mother Sophia (Another incarnation of Elly), the founder of the Holy City of Nisan (think the Vatican), with whom he fell in love. Ultimately, he became embroiled in a war between Solaris (a floating city founded by Cain and the Gazel Ministry) and Shevat (...another floating city) along with his friends Ronnie and Rene Fatima, Krelian and Sophia herself. In the end, Sophia sacrificed her life to protect Nisan, which forever changed Lacan and Krelian, as both men were in love with her. Krelian lost faith in God and declared that he would "create God with his own hands" before running off to become perhaps the primary antagonist of the game. Lacan, who blamed himself for his inability to protect her, went to travel the world seeking power. He eventually became the second iteration of Abel to come in direct contact with the Zohar directly... but the contact was imperfect, causing Lacan to split into two. The first being consisted entirely of his ambition and rage - a will more than a life, and it survived by possessing a series of men, hopping from host to host when one grew too weak or damaged to be of use. This part of Lacan became known as Grahf, the Seeker of Power. The rest of Lacan - the majority of him and the bulk of his soul, went on to reincarnate further.
-And, of course, Fei Fong Wong, who is the current (and last) incarnation of Abel.
Fei grew up in a relatively low key home with a master martial artist called Kahn for a father, and a loving mother named Karen. Kahn regularly went off on, I don't know, martial arts master adventure trips, during which time Karen would take care of Fei. All was well with this for years... until one day, Karen
changed. Unknown to Fei, she had been overtaken by Miang (who, like Grahf, essentially exists by commandeering a series of women's bodies, hopping hosts when one becomes useless or fights her influece off). Of course, to Fei, this was simply a case of his mother becoming. Strange. In a bad way. Karen/Miang began taking Fei for experiments, where he was tortured and probed - subjected to horrible pain and suffering in an attempt to "awaken" the power of Abel which rested inside him. Ultimately, the constant torture did awaken his powers. Unfortunately, it also fractured Fei's psyche, creating two distinct personalities: his "core" self, who became fearful and avoidant, and "Id," the embodiment of his rage and all of his dark impulses. Which is to say, he ultimately came to suffer from Dissociative Identity Disorder, or multiple personalities.
Eventually, Grahf tracked Fei down with the intent on merging with him and thus reconciling the division that took place when Lacan made contact with the Zohar 500 years earlier. However, this attempt brought out Id, who unleased his power, obliterating everything in the immediate area... including Karen, who fought off Miang's possession long enough to save Fei, who was in the midst of self-destructing, at the cost of her own life.
At this time, Grahf took control of Fei - or should I say, Id, who had become Fei's primary personality at this point. For years, he worked as an assassin under Grahf's control and was responsible for... extraordinary amounts of chaos and death, as well at least one instanceof genocide so extreme that the continent he attacked was removed from the official worldmap. Finally, three years prior to the start of the game, Fei's father Khan Fong Wong tracked down Grahf and his son, and confronted them in an attempt to reclaim Fei. He managed to defeat Grahf in combat, but was ultimately possessed by Grahf himself - though his personality would still manifest from time to time as a masked fellow who called himself Wiseman.
As Wiseman, Khan used his power to suppress Id's personality and bring Fei to the small, peaceful village of Lahan in the hopes that a quiet life would allow him to live normally, without awakening Id.
And so we come to the start of the game, at which point Fei is a 19 year old amnesiac with no memory of his life before his arrival in Lahan. Also notable: the two major countries of the region, Aveh and Kislev, are at war.
Okay, so Khan's plan worked quite well for three years, during which time Fei made friends and came to be seen as a beloved part of the community. However, all that came to an end when Elly, who had been reborn in Solaris and was working within the Solaran military, crash landed a stolen gear (basically a mech) in Lahan while fleeing from Kislev forces. A battle broke out in Lahan and Fei, in an attempt to defend his home, climbed into the stolen gear, called Weltall, and fought back the Kislev soldiers. All seemed to be fine... until a surviving Kislev gear shot down Fei's best friend, Timothy, causing Fei to panic, bluescreen in his own head, and revert to Id. After that... it's fair to say that Lahan ceased to exist, along with most of his friends and neighbors.
Driven away by the terrified survivors, Fei decided to travel to Aveh, which required passing through Blackmoon Forest. There, he met up with Elhaym for the "first" time (in his current lifetime), as she was hiding from Kislev soldiers and trying to make her way back to the Solarian army. They joined forces to pass through the Forest, but parted ways after making it through, with Fei joining up with Citan (who had come looking for him and brought along Weltall), instead.
Because this game is 60+ hours just doing the core plot quests, I'm going to condense. A lot.
Fei and Citan travel from the forest to a small town in Aveh, a desert country (founded by Ronnie Fatima from above), which is important later. Although Fei is reluctant to have Weltall fixed due to pretty understandable trauma from Gear use and fear of what will happen if he gets into it again, Citan convinces him that it's useful to have the gear's power on his side in case of emergencies, basically. However, since it's not an Aveh gear, parts for it aren't immediately available, so there are various shenanigans as they try to secure parts to repair it and ultimately end up arrested. However, the sand carrier holding them then gets attached by desert pirates, sinking the ship into the desert sand and forcing Fei and Citan to escape. As soon as they're free, they're drawn into a battle with a big red gear piloted by a young man who takes them for Kislev soldiers. This creates a cave in, and drops both Fei (in Weltall) and the red gear into an underground tunnel where they argue and bond their way out of the tunnel and dodge a murder attempt by an old man who recognizes Weltall as the gear created to "house the Slayer of God."
Ultimately they escape and rejoin the desert pirates. It turns out that the red gear's pilot is Bartholomew "Bart" Fatima, a descendent of Ronnie Fatima and the true heir to the throne of Aveh. However, his family was murdered years ago during a coup staged by Shakhan, a former priest, and Solaris. Bart's goal is to try to reclaim the throne, but first they have to rescue his cousin Margie, the Holy Mother of Nisan - who, 500 years later, is inhabiting Sophia's former position. Currently, their home base (and Fei's) is the Yggdrasil, a sand cruiser large enough to house gears.
Anyway, they rescue Margie through an elaborate plan involving a martial arts contest, during which Fei encounters Wiseman for the first time since his amnesia/forced vacation in Lahan. He doesn't recognize Wiseman at all, but is confused by his immense power and skill, not to mention his cryptic advice. Eventually, he rejoins Bart in time to help him face off against Solarian officers staying in the royal palace, which include Ramsus and his apparently unimportant assistant Miang (!!). Upon meeting Fei, Ramsus basically has a mental breakdown, which just continues to worsen as time goes on. In any case, they escape but don't manage to overthrow Shakhan just yet.
Regrouping, they form a plan to do that which involves Bart infiltrating the palace while Fei takes a small group of pirates and creates a diversion at the Kislev border by getting into a battle with the troupes stationed there. Fei's side goes well enough at first, until Grahf arrives and offers the head of the troupes a powerup. Said powerup results in the troupe head killing Fei's allies, which triggers another episode - Id awakens, destroys the entire area, and then dashes over to Bart, where he trashes Bart's gear and then throws the Yggdrasil on top of him.
Fei awakens imprisoned in Kislev, where he works as a gear gladiator for some time and investigates a series of murders before defending the city that imprisoned him from an attack by Elly and her Gebler forces. He manages to recruit her to their side, and they escape together (along with Citan, who had been working there as a doctor, and Hammer, who sells fun goodies), stealing an airship to get out of the country... which is then shot down by Bart, who survived and is seemingly unable to let Fei escape from imprisonment without ruining his day.
So, the result of this: Citan ends up back with Bart, but Fei and Elly are shipwrecked, eventually being picked up by a salvage ship run by a seafaring humanoid walrus., where they are eventually found by the others anyway. Just in time for an attack, which ultimately lands Fei on life support. This means bringing him to the Ethos (think anime Catholicism) headquarters for the priests to use their superior medical tech on him. So, Fei is left there, while the others run around doing things with a battle priest called Billy. These "things" involve accidentally uncovering the truth of the Ethos: it's a front for Solaris, created to control the land-dwelling population.
Fei re-enters the picture when his friends end up examining a Zeboim (!!!) era underground city, and finding Emeralda (!!!), who had been held in stasis thousands of years. Sensing that people are playing with his 'daughter,' Fei rises as Id and attacks them underground, ultimately driving them off and laying waste to the the gear of the newly arrived Wiseman. Fei is back on Bart's ship when they return to it, though, seemingly fully recovered. How did that happen? That's the power of Fei Fong Wong. Or rather, Id.
What they do know is that the Ethos has been exposed as a lie, and that the Solarians have been turning humans into monsters with the help of a scientist who happens to be the son of the man who noted that Fei is the Slayer of God, and the father of a little Shevat girl called Maria. They go to Shevat to find her, encountering her brainwashed-by-Solaris father, who ultimately helps them kill him in order to free his spirit. After this, they win Aveh back for Bart's family, and he pretty much makes it a democracy at which point they immediately elect him anyway. But before he can settle down and be the... republic-elected king... they decide to save the world from Solaris.
This means heading to Solaris to take down the evil empire (helpful tip: their food is made in the Soylent system, just saying). There, the group is separated for a while, but eventually work their way back together and then... Elly notices that Citan knows a little too much about Solaris and has entirely too much access to its high level facillities. Citan responds by turning off the lights and leaving Fei alone in the darkness, ultimately knocking him unconscious.
Eventually, he'll reveal himself to be an agent of Solaris, sent to observe Fei, whom they call the Contact (due to Abel's contact with the Wave Existence). He'll also reveal himself to be a triple agent, who turns against Solaris in order to help Fei instead. But Fei doesn't know any of that, because when he wakes up, he'll be here.
PERSONALITY:Fei's personality is complicated and fractured. In a literal sense, because he actually suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder - and in addition to that, he carries the remnants of innumerable lives before. Additionally, Xenogears's view of psychology is kind of built along Freudian principles, with each of Fei's personalities being roughly equivalent to a Freudian concept. So let's start with the basics.
Fei's original, core, personality is the one called The Coward. This personality has been periodically asleep for well over a decade, and entirely asleep for three years. The Coward was an initially happy and normal child who went into slumber as a result of his abuse at the hands of his "mother." During moments of pain, the Coward persona would retreat into his happy memories, playing them on repeat in his mind. What little we know about him is this: he is young and afraid, and hides from pain and conflict, and currently exists mostly as the image of a little boy watching his happy memories over and over. When Fei's father suppressed Fei's memories, he disappeared and ceased to emerge entirely, having been submerged under the new personality that we know as the protagonist of this game, as well as the stronger presence of Id.
That said, while he is the least active, the Coward is ultimately Fei's
primary and base personality - his core. And it is the Coward that allows the personality the player is most familiar with to take command despite its relative weakness. The Coward is also the keeper of Fei's "good" memories, and is the only one of his personalities that remembers anything happy about his life or any of their lives. He is immature and mentally still a little boy.
There's honestly not much else to him, and he probably isn't overly relevant to playing or interacting with Fei, since you won't ever meet him unless you're a telepath and even then he's mostly unresponsive.
Fei's other two primary personalities, however, are very present and active.
First, is the Fei that we know as we play the game. This is a nineteen year old young man with memories from only three of those years. This Fei is good-natured, good-hearted and mostly peaceful by preference, all of which ultimately causes him a great deal of angst and internal conflict once the game gets moving. So, okay - Fei is personable, friendly, and maybe even a bit silly - given to jumping in wells and playing rock, paper, scissors or hide and seek with people. He is likable and well-regarded by everyone in Lahan, as well as by Citan's family. And though he practices martial arts, he has no love of battle - you could say he lives his life by the principle of knowing how to fight so that you don't need to fight. He was, however, protective of those he loved... and often impulsive as evidenced by his randomly jumping into a Gear to defend the village despite having no idea how to pilot one.
After the destruction of his hometown, things get more difficult for him. Blaming himself for the deaths of his friends and family, he feels like a cursed man. He develops a hatred of fighting that goes farther and deeper than his simple preference for the quiet life had ever been, and refuses to involve himself in combat even for the good of others - this is a recurring theme, actually. Whenever things go significantly wrong (especially in a way that he blames himself for), he becomes difficult to talk to and begins to question whether there's any reason to fight, or any justification for fighting. He'll cut himself off from his friends or potential friends, falling into bouts of apathy and depression. The thing is, realistically, he actually is dangerous to others at times... and he is aware of that no matter how much people try to talk him out of believing it, even if he doesn't understand why. He's not actually stupid enough not to notice that when he gets overstressed, he tends to black out and when he wakes up everything around him is wrecked. This means that he doesn't actually mind being locked away in prison - all the better to keep himself away from people or stressors. Elly accuses him of cowardice in that he is unable to truly face up to what he's done, which he admits to be true. It also means he has a certain hatred of Gears, as most of the really bad outbursts have involved "losing control" of Gears, and he isn't aware that he's actually just losing control of his body.
Anyway, eventually he does calm down with that - he's still notably moody, and it's fair to say he never fully goes back to being the light-hearted small town boy, but he does regain his energy and sense of purpose - even some of his humor. He embraces the idea that his power makes him responsible for protecting others, but even more than that, he decides that being a part of something, fighting for people and being accepted by them, is something worth doing in itself.
So, he never loses his good heart, or his ability to see the better side in people. When he determines to save someone or something, he will risk everything to do so. It is in this way that he saves Elly from herself, and makes friends out of people who had all the right in the world to detest him, even the survivors of Lahan village eventually. He also has a martyrish tendency toss himself on the sword for people, especially if the people are friends or people he feels responsible for.
Which doesn't mean he's perfect or in any way a messiah. He's not zen at all - to the very end, he has his moments of childishness or temperamental behavior. And then, of course, there is the biggest of all his personality flaws: his inability to handle pressure, stress, rage or grief. He isn't completely fragile, mind you - he won't lose it over test pressure, for example, but he
is a young and incomplete personality and thusof lesser strength than Id. So, something like watching someone he loves be hurt or killed, the fear of losing something important to him or having his attempts to maintain mental stability directly compromised or violated in some other way (e.g. when a man called Rico forces him to fight five people despite his protests that he hates fighting and doesn't want to be involved) will almost certainly trigger the awakening of Id - although not always immediately - in Rico's case, it resulted in Id awakening while Fei slept and assassinating Rico's henchmen.
Which brings us to Id, his other active personality.
Id's name is no coincidence - he's directly named after the Id theorized by Freud, and that in itself is pretty telling regarding Id's personality. Id, the demon of Elru, is a man without conscience or restraint. He behaves as a cruel child, lashing out at anything that upsets him and being possessive of things that have meaning to him. His defense of those things is frequently violent and aggressive, and he will mow down anything in his path without regret. Sometimes, he will mow down things that aren't in his path, too.
Id enjoys a challenge, as he is easily bored. And though he has no true sense of fair play, like a child he expects fairplay from others when directed at him. Id is... brutal and petty. He was created to absorb the pain inflicted on Fei and to embody the resultant hatred and pain he felt, but he was also created as a guardian personality and acts to lessen Fei's pain in many cases - he'll destroy anything that truly threatens Fei or causes him significant upset. Even so, he shows considerable disdain for The Coward, who sees as hiding in safety while expecting him to do all the dirty work. He admits that his anger makes him want to destroy everything, and that is the source of his violent behavior. He also lacks the emotional ties that Fei has made, and is therefore difficult to get through to even by Fei's closest friends and loved ones. When trying to stave off Id, it's better to talk to Fei and try to inspire him to suppress Id from within rather than trying to reason with Id directly. It should be mentioned that Id CAN be calmed - Fei ultimately tames him ingame by forcing the Coward to share his happy memories and the love of their mother with Id, and Elly calms him temporarily by displaying unconditional love - it's just difficult because Id is so cynical and unfamiliar with happiness or affection.
Another thing about Id is, since he is a personality closer to Fei's 'true' self, he's more world-wise and actively intelligent than Fei, who can be very naive and dense due to his relative youth as a personality. Id's speech pattern, when he's not throwing a tantrum, is more sophisticated and he shows greater insight into people's personalities and motivations than Fei ever does. He also possesses the memories of Abel's previous incarnations and so, presumably, has greater access to his knowledgebase and skills.
The last thing to note about Fei is, he's very prone to flashbacks. And some of them are flashes to previous lives.
POWER:All powers are Canon unless otherwise mentioned.
Chi Abilities: This is basically just Fei's ability to tap into his personal energy to create power effects as described below. It should be noted that, as with Fei's intellectual gifts and memories, Id has far greater access to Chi than "Fei" does, so it can be assumed that if he's in Id mode, he's always going to be stronger in any of the following abilities:
Physical Powers: Superhuman strength, speed, endurance and agility, plus enhanced healing capabilities (in Id form, it's basically all-out regeneration, but as Fei he just heals a little faster than normal).
Chi "Spells": As follows:
-Inner healing: Heals one person.
-Various enhancement spells: can make Fei stronger/resistant to injury/increases reflexes. All temporary, and usually causes a fall in the opposite ability (e.g. he can make himself more resistant to damage, but then he won't be able to hit as hard)
-Three different energy attacks: a relatively weak one, a relatively strong one, and an area-effect one.
"Deathblows": They're not one shot kill attacks or anything, despite the name. This just means Fei combines his martial arts attacks with Chi powers thus creating varied effects that... usually come down to hitting people harder and/or with energy bolts as above. Within the context of a deathblow, Fei can also do a few things he otherwise can't choose to do, specifically access some of his elemental abilities. Again, nothing that's not mentioned below, and Fei cannot normally access them consciously, only as part of a specific martial arts sequence.
Elemental Powers: Some limited control over/ability to generate elements - specifically, he can generate fireballs around the size of a basketball or fiery shields that surround him for both offensive and defensive purposes, hurl bolts of electricity, freeze things, move relatively small segments of Earth to use as a weapon. I should note this is pretty normal in Xenogears - almost everyone in the game can do this as part of Deathblow combos. It's probably Fei's unique nature that lets him access them more "normally," but only Id can do that.
Zohar Powers: Not sure how else to describe this really - it's all based on tapping into the energy source called the ZOHAR to create various effects that can be loosely described as psionic.
Unless otherwise stated, only Id has conscious access to these powers. Sometimes Fei will use them, but he can't do it on purpose - more like they happen to him, really. He's not even aware that he's the one doing them.
Clairvoyance: Fei is shown to see/dream about events happening miles away. He is not precognitive, just clairvoyant.
Teleportation: Self-explanatory! It's unknown how much he can take with him, but ingame he tends to call his Gear through their psychic/spiritual connection rather than teleporting it, so it's a fair bet that it doesn't include multi-story sized objects - probably a few human-sized objects at best.
Telekinesis: Pretty standard application of telekinesis - he's shown to utilize it as levitation, force bolts, standard lift/manipulate telekinesis, force shields, breaking things apart, etc. Probably the weirdest use is the way he changes his clothes
Hiding behind... space?: He can be in a place without being in the place. When he does this, he can speak but is invisible and can't be touched, nor can he touch anything else.
Strange and sort of inexplicable Body Control: No idea why this is a thing, but he's able to move (albeit with an extreme expenditure of mental energy) even when his brain signals are being prevented from reaching his muscles, and able to defrost himself from carbonite freeze. He can also touch noncorporeal objects - this is a power Fei does have routine access to.
Summon "Gear": I'm of course aware that he can't being his building-sized mech into MoM! However, since the Gear is extremely important both to his story and his canon, I'd like for him to be able to create an "impression" of the gear - which is to say, to summon a psychically created replica of his appropriate gear (black when Fei and red when Id). The impression would be around 45 feet tall (the same size as the Gear) and would be able to do much the same things his gear did (which is basically the same things Fei does, but at a level appropriate for a 45 foot tall machine, eg it's stronger than he is, its fire shields are larger, etc). However, this would be an emergency use power, as it would rapidly exhaust Fei and would require recovery time appropriate to the length of time the "Gear" was kept active/what it was doing during its manifestation.
Non-Power abilities, aka skills: Fei is a truly epic martial artist. He also has the capability to rapidly regain skill in the areas his "old" lives were gifted in - as of this point, he's only regained Lacan's painting skill (he's a very gifted artist), but in theory he could also become a skilled scientist, for example. This is probably why he's also very tech-savvy despite having no memory of using machines until very recently. Id, in theory, actually
is capable of using his multiple lives' worth of skills, but he doesn't really have the personality to get involved in art or scientific pursuits since he mostly just wants to break things. In any case this is definitely not something I would abuse to make him good at everything - at most, I can see him getting back into science or music (Kim composed a song for Emeralda so presumably he was a musician as well) eventually.
Technically he's a genius level intellect, but.... his primary personality is very young and thus still unable to access most of his intellectual potential so I'm not even sure that counts. Still, worth mentioning.
〈 CHARACTER SAMPLES 〉COMMUNITY POST (VOICE) SAMPLE: [Video comes on, and boom, you're looking at a young fellow. He's clearly holding the communicator out, selfie style, and you can see the sky behind him, and the roofs of buildings... yeah, he's definitely on a roof. You can also see his incredibly long ponytail whipping in the wind behind him - that thing's got to be like five feet long, at least.]
[Anyway.]Hey.
[He waves with his free hand, and the camera shakes a little.]So, I'm a newcomer here... probably not that hard to tell. But I was just kind of wondering...
There was a lot of damage in the facillity where I arrived. Blood everywhere, that kind of thing. I'm told it had to do with attacks, and to be honest... I don't really care about that, as long as it's over. If the attackers come back, that's another story, but if it's done, it's done.
I'm more wondering... how often that kind of thing happens. If it's gonna be a day to day thing, I figure I should be prepared for that. I'm not saying I want to get involved, but... it's better to know what's coming, I guess.
So, anyone have any insight... throw it my way?
[He moves a little, and the screen moves as well. He seems to be hugging one knee.]Also... is it true you can search for someone's name and see if they're here? If so, I guess that's what I'll be doing for the rest of the night...
Anyway, uhhh... I think that's it. Thanks for listening.
Bonus Id Sample, included since they really don't sound much alike: [Look down at that name and there's nothing there. Just a black spot.]things have been a little boring havent they?? nothing exciting... nothing new...
just people living their boring useless lives. doing boring useless things.
i bet i can make things... more fun.
does anyone want to play with me?LOGS POST (PROSE) SAMPLE:It takes a while for Fei accept that he isn't in Solaris anymore. Despite the obvious change in decor - from cold and neon and otherworldly to something far more down to earth - the circumstances nonetheless seem fitting: military base, splattered blood, some
lab and confused people, suffering people. It's probably natural that he assumes this is part of some kind of plot by Solaris to control him, and control everyone here. It's for that reason, more than anything, that he ignores the soldiers around him and their apologies, their explanations. That's also why he hesitates to open the folder he's given, though they've given him no specific reason to doubt them.
But he lets them lead him around. Half-listens to their explanations.
It isn't until he steps outside, into the bright sunlight, that he begins to take them seriously. Because this place - whatever and wherever it is - is definitely not... a floating city in the sky.
...Confusing. Fei stares down at the folder in his hand and, for a moment, considers opening it and reading it, but... in the end, he doesn't. Even if this isn't connected to Solaris, it's difficult to.. trust them. Especially once they start describing a tattoo he can't see - another implant, another way to track people or manipulate them, he's sure.
At least. Maybe he's sure. It's all too much information, and too... confusing. And he doesn't want to read whatever they have written in that folder; he doesn't want to learn whatever stories are being made up about him, whatever lies this new place has to feed him. Instead, he shoves the file under his arm and stares ahead as they lead him toward the car.
And his head is only barely
here - most of it is busy sorting through his thoughts, wondering how he got here to begin with (did Citan send him away? Is that why the lights went dim?), wondering if his friends were sent here too. Even if this place looks nothing like home... who's to say it isn't still home? It could be... some weird island, or some kind of illusion. It could be he's unconscious right now, it could be he's dreaming, the way he does sometimes.
He looks down at the ground, watches his feet pass over concrete. If he's dreaming, then he has no idea where these images would have come from. They look nothing like anything he's ever seen.
"Uh... where are we?" He says. It's the first thing he's said since he arrived.
The soldier at his side blinks, looks his way. "I thought I said. We're at Cape Canaveral. Welcome to your new home!"
New home? He really isn't sure what to think of that.
FINAL NOTES: Id's actual appearances should be relatively rare and, if he's going to do anything other than mess with another player, would probably require plot approval anyway, so his abilities are very controlled. Also, Id doesn't
look like Fei - when his personality emerges, Fei's skin turns deathly white, his hair turns red and wild and his clothing changes.
Also, as always, more than happy to shave off abilities/nerf things if necessary - I already left some of the gamebreaker powers out, but it's hard to know where to stop shaving sometimes.
